Job Description

AlphaGraphics Chicago North is looking for an outgoing, ambitious and experienced customer service representative to work in our business center. We are a locally owned/operated printing, marketing and communications company that specializes in client solutions. The position is a full timehourly, working 40 hours a week, five days a week. We are closed on the weekend to allow our employees to enjoy their family.

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers on behalf of the company by taking personal and complete responsibility for each customer contact and by ensuring that all customer requirements and needs are met. This CSR serves as one of the primary internal representative of the organization. You must be able to intelligently discuss with the customer our products, services and capabilities. You must have a teachable and willing to learn spirit. You must be able to talk to customers without having an argumentative spirit, but be able to listen. The CSR must be able to end conversations with customer on pleasant note to avoid getting frazzled. The CSR is also responsible for communicating customer requirements to the production and design team.

Customer Service Representative Responsibilities:

  • Manage inbound customer communications - Answer incoming calls and emails to address customer questions, requests and issues.
  • Consult on customer success - Advise customers on how to successfully leverage the product/service based on their unique needs.
  • Maintain working product knowledge - Act as a product expert to ensure information given to customers is accurate, up-to-date and strategic. Training will be provided for the right candidate as they will be ramping up on their knowledge on the business.
  • Track interactions in CRM - Record customers interactions in internal system for cross-functional awareness and relationship development.
  • Highly Responsive - Be highly responsive to customer inquiries/needs and act as key contact for clients
  • Customer Greetings - Greet customers in a friendly manner within seconds of entering the business center
  • Communicate professionally with production team and customers on a regular basis
  • Accurately enter estimates/quotes into PrintSmith Vision software (Great if you have experience with PrintSmith software in the past but not mandatory)
  • File customer artwork with designer department
  • Notify customers when proofs are ready or when an order is completed
  • Collect payment from customers at front counter and over the phone credit card payments
  • Cross-train in other areas for back-up
  • Acquire a strong knowledge of the products and services offered
  • Understand and consult with clients on printing and marketing solutions
  • Strategize with clients by listening, interpreting their needs, and advising on solutions
  • Communicate courteously with clients though email, over the phone, and in person
  • Assist clients with the resolution of any problems that may arise
  • Consult and be a resource for clients during the purchasing process

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have 2+ years of experience in the printing industry (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Candidate must have 2+ years of demonstrated customer service experience (mandatory)
  • PC Proficient(mandatory)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, good organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and a quick learner
  • Ability to work in a team environment, under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Self-starter, results-driven individual
  • Strong problem-solving and good judgement skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan with an eye for detail and producing quality work
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Energetic and positive “can do” attitude
  • High School diploma and at least 2 years of college in General Education preferred

The ideal candidate has a customer-first mindset and aims to deliver high-quality service in every customer interaction.

The role will attract commission on top of the base salary after 6 months and will be calculated based on the revenue processed by the CSR.
