Job Summary
This position is responsible for the performance of general office duties.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration.
- Responsible for verifying and entering information into various databases as well as preparing correspondence, bills, statements and other documents as required.
- Communicating with customers both internally and externally, in person, by radio, telephone, computer or other communication devices.
- Driving crews to and from various sites.
- Retrieving numbers from the sides of trains.
- Other general office duties as assigned.
- Complete annual safety testing requirements.
- Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection or safety glasses when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma /GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Typing 40-60 wpm
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- RMI Experience Preferred

- College Degree

- Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications-both general and technical)
- Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)
- Reasoning skills (problem solving and trouble shooting skills)
- Basic Math
Physical Requirements
- Constant Sitting
- Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection
- Walking frequently up to one mile through the rail yard on uneven terrain
- Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb
Environmental Conditions
Work outside in all weather conditions on uneven terrain.
Shifts/Hours
Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work.
Pay Rate
Entry Rate - $279.66 per day
Full Rate $329.02 per day
Training
Company paid on the job training (which may require travel) provided.
Probationary Period
60 Days
Union Membership
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, union membership and monthly dues are required.
Transportation Communications Union
