Job Description

We are looking for an Outside Sales Consultant to join our team! If you are interested in using and developing your sales skills, we would love to meet you! The Outside Sales Consultant is responsible for meeting with prospective leads in their homes, demonstrating our products and services, negotiating contract prices, and closing jobs on a regular basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners, identifying existing problem areas and demonstrating how our products and services can solve those problems.
  • Follow up on all inquiries and leads in a timely manner.
  • Act as primary point-of-contact for prospective customers.
  • Receive, discuss and/or verify order information with customers.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
  • Report customer complaints or issues in need of attention and take proactive steps to resolve them.
  • Negotiate with clients within a pre-authorized window.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings with your supervisor and sales team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years of sales experience, preferably in a trade or home improvement industry.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Ability to quickly assess customer needs and provide solutions.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and CRM software.
