Packaging Technician Job Description

Position Overview

The Packaging Technician is responsible for the packaging of refrigerants. During summer months, some overtime may be required. The Packaging Technician will work at both the Mattis & Interstate Drive locations in Champaign. 

Hours: 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Operating up to 4 automated packaging stations one at a time
• Capping and shrink-wrapping valves on product cylinders
• Palletizing product cylinders for shipment
• Operating a manual fill station

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted continuously
• Ability to stand for 8 hours per day
• Ability to bend, squat and lift continuously 
• Required to wear gloves, safety glasses and steel toe boots
• A company uniform is provided and must be worn
• Packagers work alone or as a team of 2 workers
