About The Role - Veterinary Territory Sales Representative - Chicagoland

We are looking for a Veterinary Territory Sales Representative to distribute Prudent Pet's pet insurance product throughout Illinois (Chicagoland) based veterinary clinics. The ideal candidate is one that has experience selling pet insurance to veterinary clinics to distribute amongst their pets. This role will sell into veterinarian clinics virtually, but will be expected to travel for in person meetings as necessary. Above all, we are looking for this person to champion the veterinary channel for Prudent and make it a significant portion of overall sales for the business.


Core Responsibilities

  • Successfully develop and execute sales and marketing strategies into veterinarians and other systems/organizations that are involved within that community
  • Build target lists to approach and begin the selling process
  • Execute on outreach and marketing
  • "Close" a client and onboard them with the tools they need to promote Prudent Pet
  • Manage the relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Work with the internal sales teams to facilitate clean handoffs of customer to our sales agents
  • Develop and calibrate metrics for closing rates for onboarding a veterinary clinic, and how much activity a veterinary clinic should be driving
  • Review reporting and performance with management

Principal Working Relationships

  • Reports directly to the President
  • Downers Grove, Illinois based Sales Support Team
  • Technical and Operational teams
  • Other key home office employees including the ownership group

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years selling pet insurance into veterinary clinics
  • Bring a proven approach to selling into veterinary clinics
  • Must be strong at generating leads and networking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Outstanding presentation skills to both small and large groups
  • Driven, goal-focused, and coachable; communicative and confident professional

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $70k-$80k
  • Commission: Paid quarterly based on new business and renewal units that the role drives for the organization. As the person builds out the distribution channel, commission should become the majority of the overall compensation.
